Last fall, the Women’s Health and Resource Library received a small grant from the Maine Humanities Council to host a series of discussions and interactive activities around Ellen Fitzpatrick’s book The Highest Glass Ceiling:  Women’s Quest for the American Presidency.  The grant brought together a diverse group of women from Western Washington and Hancock Counties to share their cross-age experiences of strength and leadership and to gain a deeper understanding of the multiple roadblocks that stand in the way of their full participation in society.

We have decided to continue our Women’s Reading and Discussion Group and gather from 6-7:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Women’s Health and Resource Library on School Street in Milbridge.  Prior to the meeting,  we will select a key feminist article, book or video for the group to read or watch in preparation for our discussion.
