Each evening will feature a subject, but you will not leave with the same painting. You will develop your own interpretation of the subject matter to create your own individual painting. You will learn about painting techniques, color, composition and creativity!
You’ll receive an 11 x 14” canvas. Paints and brushes, light snacks and soft drinks will be provided. Bring your creativity and a smock!

Linoleum Block Printing and Stamp Making for Beginners
Learn to create your own stamps and patterned blocks to print on fabric, paper, and more with Emily Naples. Using a variety of linoleum samples and carving tools, students will learn to carve, ink, and print their own linoleum stamps/blocks. Each student will leave with a finished printed tote bag and their own block carving tools and brayer. All materials, tools, and inks provided. Day 1: creation of a relief block, Day 2: inking and printing techniques. Students are encouraged to bring a selection of paper/fabrics to print on, and a simple design to carve.
- Day 1 – Wednesday, October 5
- Day 2 – Wednesday, October 12
This two-evening class runs from 5:30 – 8:30 pm at the Women’s Health Resource Library. The cost is $50 and you’ll keep the carving tools so you can continue to create on your own.
Needle Felting Animal Ornaments
Join Gail Morehouse and learn how to needle felt small animal ornaments. Needle felting involves using a very sharp barbed needle to interlock wool fibers into various shapes. It’s a fun, easy and forgiving craft. We will cover the basics and end up with a couple of cute animals to hang on your tree or give as gifts. For ages 12 and up.
- Wednesday, December 7 from 5:30-8:30pm.
The cost is $35 and you’ll go not only with your ornaments, but also with the felting needle and foam block set so you can continue to create on your own.
All workshops are at the Women’s Health Resource Library at 24 School Street in Milbridge. Space is limited. Advance registration and payment is required. Visit www.whrl.org/programs/art/ for more details!
