The Women’s Health Resource library will offer two $2500 Elaine Hill Memorial Scholarships to individuals pursuing a career in nursing. The first is open to a Narraguagus High School graduating senior who has been accepted to an accredited university or community college nursing program. The second is for a non-traditional student from Washington County who is currently enrolled, or who has been accepted to and will enroll in an accredited nursing program in the fall.

Elaine Hill died in February of 2009 after a battle with breast cancer. She is remembered for her life of service as a nurse at the Milbridge Medical Center. For more than 30 years, Elaine was the face of compassion in Milbridge, caring for everyone from newborns to seniors. This scholarship honors her legacy of community service, compassion and caring.
